Initially: Forget the harp - shade holder. Forget the shade spider drop - recess.
1) Concentrate only on the shade size and style. Otherwise shade fitting will be mission impossible !
2) Find the correct shade style and size (top-bottom-side), ignoring the harp - shade holder and ignoring shade spider drop - recess.
3) We have the correct harp - shade holder (if necessary) to position the new shade bottom 1-2" below the electrical socket.

HARP, SADDLE, FINIAL - Lamp shade rests on a
HARP or
PIPE and held by a
FINIAL.
HARP snaps into the
SADDLE located directly beneath the electrical socket. Harps are available in many different sizes (lengths). Harps and saddles are also available in two (2) different gauges: Heavy Duty or Light Duty.
Heavy Duty Harps and Saddles are nearly 1/4" in thickness - about the width of a standard drinking straw.
Light Duty Harps and Saddles are thinner.

Shade Riser - 1" or 2" high - Screws onto a Harp (above) to quickly raise (lower) a lamp shade.

Our shades are designed to fit any glass reflector bowl without special hardware. Glass reflector bowls come in three widths: 6", 8", 10" and our shades fit all of them. Rarely the customer may want a very narrow top lamp shade in which case the shade can still be fitted onto the glass reflector bowl by using a RING (photo above) and a RISER (photo above). However most of these reflector lamps were originally made with DRUM shades and SHALLOW DRUM shades so narrow top shades are usually out of consideration. Another rare situation is when the customer wants to RAISE the shade to make it sit higher. This is accomplished by using the appropriate diameter ring and risers shown above. STANDARD CLIP ADAPTER (standard bulb) - Attaches to any of our lamp shades. Make any lamp shade clip onto a light bulb by using the STANDARD CLIP ADAPTER. This clip adapter positions the shade about 1.5" higher than the flush clip adapter.

SLIP UNO LAMP SHADES - Slip Over The Electrical Socket: Many imported lamps from big box stores (such as Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, etc.) have SLIP UNO FITTER LAMP SHADES. V NOTCH SPIDER: Customers often ask if our shade spiders have V NOTCHES to keep the shade stable on top of a white glass reflector bowl.
YES, MOST SHADE HAVE V NOTCH SPIDERS. The few shades that do not can be stabilized by adding SHADE CLIPS that clip onto the shade spider SPOKES and snug right up against the glass for the most secure fit.

We are very familiar with fitting candelabra lamps. We need specific information in order to get a correct fit.
1) VERTICAL HEIGHT TO THE TOP OF THE MIDDLE SOCKET (if there is one) - (MEASURED TO THE TOP OF THE CENTER ELECTRICAL SOCKET NOT THE LIGHT BULB).
2) VERTICAL HEIGHT TO THE TOP OF ANY OUTER CANDELABRA SOCKET - (MEASURED TO THE TOP OF THE ELECTRICAL SOCKET NOT THE LIGHT BULB).
3) WIDTH DIAGONALLY ACROSS TWO OF THE OPPOSITE CANDELABRA SOCKETS - SEE THE RED LINE IN THE TOP PHOTO. THE 4 BLACK CIRCLES REPRESENT THE 4 OUTER CANDELABRA SOCKETS. WE NEED THE MEASUREMENT OF THE RED LINE.
4) WIDTH ACROSS THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE LAMP BASE.
5) SHADE STYLE PREFERENCE - Narrow your selection to a particular style so I do not waste time suggesting a shade outside your interest. (i.e. Drum, Coolie, Pleated, Mica, Square, Metal ... etc.)
