* Honey Available July 1 2010 *
 Free Honey (1/2 Pint - 8 oz) with $500 Order - ask, limited supply ends very soon Pure - Natural - Unprocessed - Wildflower Honey From Jim Hoyle's Farm Most people are familiar with the beautiful golden clover honey and delicate light colored sourwood honey. Our honey is quite different as the bees gather from a variety of nearby wildflowers growing throughout our farm. We see them hard at work each day on blossom flowers of holly, wild daisies, blackberry, laurel, honey suckle, wild roses, weigela, cherry, dogwood, poplar and others. The difference in this wild flower honey is quite remarkable. It has a very rich mahogany color and when you open the lid, the fragrance and taste is unlike any other honey - a complexion of intricate flavors that is truly nectar from God. I do not take any credit other than caring for my bees. They do all the work. I do not feed the bees or do anything artificial except for providing the hive (box) where they live and work. This honey is as pure and natural and unprocessed as it comes.
BEE FACTS: *A bee flies about 1600 round trips to produce one ounce of honey; up to 6 miles per trip. To make 2 pounds of honey, bees flight is equal to 4 times around the earth. *Bees from the same hive visit about 225,000 flowers per day. One single bee usually visits between 50-1000 flowers a day, but can visit up to several thousand. *Queens will lay almost 2000 eggs a day at a rate of 5 or 6 a minute. Between 175,000-200,000 eggs are laid per year. *The average hive temperature is 93.5 degrees. *Beeswax production in most hives is about 1 1/2% to 2% of the total honey yield. *About 8 pounds of honey is eaten by bees to produce 1 pound of beeswax. *Honeybees are the only insects that produce food for humans. *Just a single hive contains approximately 40-45,000 bees! *During honey production periods, a bee's life span is about 6 weeks. *Honeybees visit about 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey. *Bees fly an average of 13-15 mph.
